Gavin Mc Kiernan

Director

Gavin has led a variety of events from concept, to follow through and everything in between.

His past work includes a variety of roles for other events and event management companies. He oversaw a 40% increase in sign ups for the Inland Empire’s largest endurance event, worked on auctions and golf tournaments that grossed over $400,000 for the Boys & Girls Clubs, and conducted fundraising dinners in cities across the country for non-profits and political campaigns.

Gavin specializes in marketing, branding and event design as well as working with non-profits with limited resources and helping them create events that are fun, memorable and profitable.

Ron Gee

Event Specialist, Course Lead

A world class marathon runner, Ron placed 20th overall in the 1988 US Olympic Marathon Trials.

Ron is a veteran of over 20 years of events in Southern California. Ron has been a part of events as varied in size and scope as small kids runs to the largest marathons in the area. Ron understands what people want from your event be they elite athletes, age group contenders, couch to 5K walkers and everyone in between.

Ron’s specialties are logistics, audio production, and race day and event management.

Angela Holder

Director of Partnerships

Angela leverages her relationships with sponsors and vendors to bring your post race festival to life. She will bring in paying booths as well as product donors and attractions. She will handle everything your site needs including collecting insurance and other paperwork. Event week, she will be the point person for communicating with vendors and sponsors keeping you from being bombarded with questions and requests.

Rufus Fuller

Elite Athletes & Course Management
Rufus Fuller

Rufus can leverage his connections among elite athletes to bring top running talent to your race. You will also see Rufus out setting up the course. A veteran course marshal, Rufus will have your course set up quickly and neatly to make the running portion of the event go smoothly and look good.

Ara Agopian

Technology Consultant & Webmaster

Ara and his company contribute to Mercury Events by designing this site and other event websites to maximize the first impression on potential participants and sponsors.
Ara Has been in business since 1999 Some of his teams recent projects include: Branding, business cards, brochures, posters, trade show graphics, ecommerce websites, online and print catalogs, flyers, display designs, vehicle wraps, menus, package designs and other promotional graphics.

Norma Gonzalez

Director of Social Media & Pacing

Norma manages the social media for several events bringing in new followers and ever growing engagement. Her graphic skills and attention to detail help to create a consistent look, feel and voice to your social media presence.  A veteran pacer of many endurance events Norma will also make sure your participants don’t go off course and help them achieve their goal times at your event, creating lasting memories and connections with your brand and/or charity.

Art Acebedo

Volunteer Coordinator

After helping you recruit a large work force to help put on your event, he will schedule and train your volunteers.

With Art in charge of your volunteers, you won’t need to be involved in any of the headaches that arise while training, organizing and placing dozens if not hundreds of volunteers from all ages and walks of life across a large area.

Tawnya Betancourt

Ambassador Program Director

A certified RRCA Certified Coach, specializing in getting the recreational runner across the finish line.  Couch to 5k, 10k, 1/2 and full marathon experience. Tawnya recruits, trains, and motivates a team of runners who represent various Mercury Events runs throughout the region and for some events, across the country. These ambassadors pay dividends several fold by increasing the visibility of events and the reach of their marketing campaigns.
